GENDER DIVERSITY IN THE BOARDROOMS – REALITIES IN EU AND ROMANIA REVEALED

Gender diversity in the boardrooms has become a wide debated topic at international level in the last decade. Numerous arguments and facts supporting the case for gender diversity in the boardrooms have been identified. Consequently, EU Commission as well as various institutions in different countries have been actively seeking ways to ensure a more balanced gender representation at strategic decision-making positions. The presentations shared in this panel will reveal the current status of gender diversity in the boardrooms of listed companies at EU and regional level. The current situation in Romania has been the scope of the study performed jointly by Deloitte and PWN Romania to be launched on this occasion.

Started as a United Nation’s initiative, “He for She” is a global solidarity movement dedicated to gender equality and women empowerment. Many leaders have internationally adhered to this platform, including the Romanian President, Klaus Iohannis. This panel will debate on the local implications of the “He for She” platform and how could men engage in promoting gender equality in the boardrooms.
